Pinemeadow Golf's origins and objectives
(Excerpts from an interview with Pinemeadow Golf)
Previous: Do you get more savings with clone drivers, irons, or putters?
Me: Tell us a little bit about Pinemeadow Golf...
Guy Mount III: We started the company back in 1985 and the goal of the company then is surprisingly similar to the goal of the company now. And that is to provide golf clubs that have similar qualities to the brand name clubs, but at a price that the average golfer can afford.
When we started the company back in 1985, here in the United States we had Ping irons that would sell for $500-$600 for a set of irons, and we were providing a knockoff (if you will) of the Ping i-model back then. It was called the Tour Model 2. We were providing that club at $200 at retail (now it's gone down to $150).
But the goal then was the same goal as it is now. That leverage, that difference between the $600 brand name club and our $150/$200 knockoff club was the same then as it is today. It's great value, and the products are very similar. The makeup of the clubs are very similar, but it's just a price the average person can afford.
